The best way to watch British TV in France is to do it with a satellite dish. The Poitou-Charentes is quite accessible for satellite TV and both SKY and FreeSAT are easy to pick up with a good coverage for the ASTRA satellite. BBC Iplayer is not available outside UK as it restricts access to UK based computers. You can get around it with a VPN (Virtual Private Network) which tricks the BBC into thinking you are at home. There are a number of VPN providers, some are free but the service is limited, others require a subscription but this can be tricky as the BBC are constantly looking for VPNs to ban too. If you find one make sure you get a trial period to test it with the BBC Iplayer, as if their IP address is banned by the BBC it will still not work.
